CU On the Trails - 4 weeks x 1 hr - 200 + hst
Pre-requisite: Completion of either CU - Puppy Primer Class or CU - Building blocks class
Offleash hiking is my favourite thing to do with my dogs and I use a lot of CU games to keep my dogs engaged on trails. I am also a firm believer in obeying leash laws on public trails and think it’s important for people to understand how to give their dogs a sense of offleash freedom without breaking leash laws. This class will be offered once in the Spring before it gets buggy (April) and again in the Fall (late August/Sept). You will need rubber boots and be prepared to get a little dirty in this class!
We will cover:
- Long line handling skills
- CU games for teaching reliable recalls
- CU games for teaching dogs to automatically reorient to us when distractions come
- Controlled setups for passing people/other dogs on trails as well as games to play to keep dogs calm/engaged while we go off to the side to give other people/dogs space to pass
Next Class: Sunday, April 7th @ 11AM at 1956 Shantz Station Rd

Fitness Foundations & Manners - 4 weeks x 1 hr - 200 +hst
Pre-requisite: Completion of either CU - Puppy Primer Class or CU - Building blocks class
Canine fitness is an incredible way to build your dog’s confidence, balance, strength & just have fun doing some new things with your dog. This class is a great way to introduce your dog to the foundations of canine fitness training while also polishing up on your dog’s manners and build on the basics learned in the Puppy Primer course in a class setting. We will cover a number of options for equipment, including creative options that you probably already have in your own home (you don’t need a lot of fancy equipment to get started!) Skills taught include: front/rear foot targeting, nose targeting/sustained nose touch, position changes, and a number of exercises to help improve your dogs proprioception. All exercises can be modified to be safe for young puppies, so there is no age restriction to join the class.
This is NOT a rehabilitation class, so if your dog is recovering from any sort of injury please contact your vet and a canine physiotherapist for help.

Toy Handling & Basic Flatwork - 4 weeks x 1 hr - $150 + hst
Pre-requisite: Completion of either CU - Puppy Primer Class or CU - Building blocks class
If you’re like I was when I first started trying to use toys in training, you’re probably thinking it’s not as easy as some people make it look!
Whether you’re using a disc, a tug toy or a ball, there are a few skills that make toy training a LOT easier. This course covers some basic bitework skills to make it clear to your dog when we want them to grab, tug, give to hand, drop, or bring the toy. It includes games for building connection and toy drive as well as some basic flatwork skills (aka the stuff that happens between catches).

Intro to Disc - 4 weeks x 1 hr - $150 + hst
Pre-requisite - Toy Handling & Basic Flatwork
We’ll spend the first 2 weeks without your dogs, going over choosing the right disc and learning how to throw it so that your dog can safely catch it and a few trick throws for added flair. In the last 2 weeks you’ll bring your dog, and we’ll be putting together the flatwork skills from the last class with your disc throws, and adding in more games to build drive, confidence and connection with your dog for the disc.

Tricks class - 4 weeks x 1 hr - In person option $200 + HST; Virtual option $150 + hst
Pre-requisite: none - dogs must be able to work near other dogs to join in person. No aversive training tools (prong, shock or choke chains) are permitted in class
This class is open to anyone whether they want to learn individual tricks or learn how to put them into sequences to do freestyle routines. If your dog isn’t a toy-dog that’s totally okay too! All these tricks are easy to teach for food, and then if you want to later transition your dog to doing them for toys we can do that too!
We cover: leg weaves, spin, bow, say your prayers, footsies, and jump into my arms, and depending on time will take requests for other tricks
Next class: Monday, April 8th @ 6pm @ 1956 Shantz Station Rd
